Halloween 09

Well it finally rolled around to halloween and we whent out to the french quarter to cellebrate. Here is my finished mule head wich I got a lot of compliments on and was very happy with! The cart was Brians creation, though you cant see it well in these pictures. It says french quarter mule rides, he was dressed as a tourist and I whipped him through the quarter!

The mask was a old bicycle helmet that I built a wire mesh frame around and made into a mule head. I then paper mache'd it and painted. The mane was acrylic hair and the eyes were painted mesh. If anyone in New Orleans descides to put on a production of Equis I volunteer to do the masks :)

Here are some pictures of the Mask off of me.

Little progresses

I fixed up the manticore mask a bit, though I think it is more of a continual work in progress. Painted scorpion tail on seat of pants and winding down leg to go with it, so far its a black outline with minor shading im debating on wether to highlight in red since the pants are a kakhi green I dont want it to end up looking xmassy.

Starting on a mononoke mask tonight, im going to try a layer of seran wrap over my clay to make it easier to remove, but im worried that it will retain humidity on the inside so the mask wont dry, I believe thats why I had so much curlage on one of my previous masks uneven drying of the inside vs outside. I plan on making mask oversized to combat this issue.

Other than that not much on the work bench, I did some video editing on a private project for my husbands Bday. Turned out very well if I do say, Though I learned a lot. Like for instance to keep my mouth shut for the first viewing, no one likes the directors cut with commentary. :)

LARP game tomorrow night.
Hope to see some new faces, but mostly hoping to have some of the familiars come back, makes it more fun when you can plan ongoing story lines and my character is looking for new ways of hunting.

What im Working on now:

Ok, last week I spent days working on a repaint of my Nerf Maverick to make her steampunky, dont know why or what I will use it for since my LARP storyteller said no to bringing it.. but thats ok Ill find a future use for her and damn she looks purdy on my wall.
About half way done with my Manticore mask, it fits well but there be shrinkage wich made it uncomfortable to wear on Sunday to the game. Also some of the teeth bent wich I will have to re-inforce. She looks good but I need to make more bead things for the mane and finish her paint job.

Been working on top secret videos for the husband and having a interesting adaptation on the secret sharing fantasy where Im showing video's of myself eating pudding erotically to strangers. Interesting fantasy maybe ill make a pudding vid for my Utube.... fully clothed of course!

Speaking of video, Ive been thinking about doing something for Changeling where I interview characters about their escapes from the Hedge. Will ask people if their interested but It would be a fun way of documenting all of the characters people play. Im so sad sometimes about all of the work I put into creating RPG stuff that dissapears over time into the ether of cyberspace. How many characters have I created and where are they now?

Here is the manticore mask:
I added some hair wraps with cheetah print etc and some beads. The effect is somewhat African inspired.
